Inks ‘n’ Bleach - Summer Fruits with Caroline Chappell

Use inks and bleach to create dramatic effects around this colourful theme.

Summer Bags with Philippa Kendall

Sat 9 August | 10.30am-4pm | £25 inc. materials

A fun fabric workshop where you will make a summer bag in a day using mainly appliqué techniques, strips, fabric scraps and bold, decorative embroidery.

Painting and Drawing with Caroline Chappell

Mon 11 and Tue 12 August | 10.30am-4pm | £34 for 2 days inc. all materials

Starting with drawing skills, tutor Caroline Chappell will lead you through a colourful journey to a finished acrylic painting.

Felt Making with Rosie Colvin

Work with colourful wool tops to create your own designs.

Creative With Photoshop with Claire Wright

Tues 12 and Tues 19 August | 10.30Am-4pm | £50 for 2 days

For photographers, artists and illustrators who want to use Photoshop to enhance or promote their work. Take an indepth look at layers, filters, brushes and learn photo montage techniques and lots more. Suitable for those with some experience of Photoshop. Includes a training DVD. This is a demonstration based course and no equipment is necessary however laptops are welcomed.

Pottery Painting with Katy Gorman

Weds 13 August | 10am-4pm | £28 inc. all materials, glazing and firing

A chance to design and paint your own unique pottery plate. Pottery painting is fun, creative and it’s easy to achieve great looking results. Your plate will be taken away, glazed and fired in a kiln, ready to be returned to you within a few days.

Land Art with David Gosling

Wed 13 August and Thurs 14 August | 10.30Am-4pm |£50 inc. all materials

  • day 1 at The Mill
  • day 2 at Wroxton Abbey

Create masks and faces to bring the spirits of trees to life. Day one will be spent on design work at The Mill and day two working with clay in the grounds at Wroxton Abbey. Own transport necessary.

Volunteer training with Karen Baum and Tim Jones

Volunteering is a chance to learn new skills, have fun, achieve, network, create and enjoy the arts. This day will cover communication skills, customer care, health & safety. There will be an opportunity to tour the centre and to discuss volunteer roles at The Mill, including marketing, stewarding and assisting in the gallery.

Banbury Stories with Meg Harper

Working with established children’s writer, Meg Harper, an opportunity to create a collection of stories inspired by your local knowledge of Banbury’s canalside area, particularly The Mill. The completed collection of stories will be published in a booklet for you to keep and for us to display at The Mill. Bring along your own powered up laptop if you want an easy life – otherwise plenty of paper and pens.
