B-Live Launches in Bicester

B-Live Launches on a Sun Drenched Day in Bicester

On Sunday 22nd July, on a glorious day in Garth Park, The Mill Arts Centre launched B-Live, a year-long programme of performances and arts activity in Bicester, with music, theatre and taster sessions.  B-Live will take the best of The Mill’s regular programme and bring it to Bicester to engage with the new communities in one of the fastest growing towns in Europe.

The Launch event on Sunday offered taster sessions for the Little Creatives and Creative Crafts , as well as an opportunity to meet with members and the choreographer from the Remarkable Dance Company.  There was also street theatre and music from local singer Jamie Felton.

The event was well attended, with a park full of people enjoying the music in the sunshine, while children were entertained with face-painting and craft activities.  The Mill Arts Centre Director Georgia Geary said; “We’re delighted with the amount of people who’ve come to us today, either as children taking part or adults wanting to know more.  Part of our mission at The Mill is to engage with communities and ensure the arts are accessible to all, and we see the whole of Cherwell district as our community, not just Banbury, and this project is a huge opportunity for us to bring high quality, contemporary performances and activities to Bicester.”

Over the course of the next year there will be theatre, circus, dance and family performances, as well as craft sessions for young and old, and the Remarkable Dance Company – made up exclusively of over 50’s – will be recruiting new members in Bicester to create a curtain raiser for Uchenna Dance’s performance in March 2019.

As well as online and over the phone, a dedicated Bicester Box Office has been set up in Coles Books in Pioneer Walk, with tickets available for all B-Live and Mill Arts Centre events.

The programme launches with Little Creatives and Creative craft Sessions in September, before welcoming Wriggle Dance Theatre for the first performance in October.  Full details of all performances are available from www.bicesterlive.co.uk or 01295 279002.
