About the Event
Lindsey Webster (AKA Sew Stretch Soar) brings us bright, bold garment sewing for all levels. Whether your sewing machine is fresh out of the box, or an old friend, you’ll be guided through your sewing projects with advice on all aspects of sewing including customising your patterns for the perfect fit, working with different fabrics, and tackling new techniques. With a big space to work in and a well equipped studio, your creativity can thrive and you’re sure to leave with new skills, new clothes, and new friends.
Material & Equipment Notes: Please bring along your own sewing machine and/or overlocker(one overlocker available to use in class) and any fabric you would like to use throughout this course – Lindsey can guide you through pattern and fabric selection for your project – she even has a few patterns in the studio for you to browse, as well as offer suggestions on the best places to shop for sewing supplies. For more details please contact Laura on laura.walker@themillartscentre.co.uk (or sewstretchsoar@gmail.com)
Course Dates: Monday 14th, 21st September, Monday 5th, 12th, 19th October, Monday 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th November, Monday 7th December

This course takes place in the Long Room. Please note that regrettably this room is not accessible to wheelchair users due to necessary fire evacuation regulations. The main entrance is level access. On your right, there is a button to open the automatic door to the Café Bar. Head forwards into the Gallery, turn right up the ramp and proceed through two sets of double doors (please note there is no automatic button to open these doors). Please be aware that there are low ceilings and low door frames in this area. Turn right and proceed up the stairs (six steps, a landing, and then seven steps). Proceed through the doors straight ahead, then turn left and proceed through the double doors into the Long Room.
All adult courses are created in partnership with Abingdon and Witney College and co-funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency. As we are in receipt of government funding, students will be asked to complete an enrolment form and evaluation diary for monitoring purposes.
