The Mill Arts Centre Launches Exciting New Film Programme

This Autumn, with the support of the Film Audience Network, The Mill Arts Centre will launch a new programme of Independent British and International Films and a new Film Club to sit alongside it’s exciting programme of live events.

The flim programme will bring some of the best independent films to the big screen in Banbury, as well as some much loved classics. There’ll also be a hosted Film Club after each screening where you can meet fellow film buffs, review what you’ve just seen, as well as discuss films you love and would like to see at The Mill. There’ll also be a chance to discuss any other film activity or talks you’d like to see The Mill host as part of the film programme.

The new season begins on Wednesday 5th September with a much lauded performance by Sheila Hancock in Edie, an elderly woman who, in the aftermath of the death of her controlling husband, decides to fulfil a long-held dream of climbing a Scottish mountain. A wonderful film about self-discovery set against the stunning backdrop of the Scottish Highlands.

Our audiences have shown that this is the type of product they love to see on the big screen, so with the help of the Film Audience Network we’re giving them exactly what they want. The film club will also make sure that our future programme of film and related events is responding to what customers want to see.”
