About Us

The Mill Arts Centre is the cultural hub for Banbury and the wider region, providing the only dedicated arts and performance venue in the area.

Whilst we take our name from our home – a former working mill set between the river Cherwell and the Oxford Canal, the Mill Arts Centre is more than a building, rather it comprises the people and activities that interact within, and increasingly, beyond our walls.

Each year we present over 200 exciting live events and performances in our studio theatre including family theatre, dance, music and comedy, alongside running one of Oxfordshire’s largest adult education programmes with classes and workshops spanning both performance and visual arts.

Away from our base we run multiple community projects and initiatives with partner organisations to ensure that a wide range of high quality creative and culture experiences are accessible to all.

We are extremely grateful to all our supporters, especially Oxfordshire County Council, Cherwell District Council and National Lottery players. We are proud to be an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation and receive public funding through DCMS in support of our work.
