It was the Suffragettes who started International Women’s Day, with the first official event held in 1911.

Over a century later, International Women’s Day (IWD) continues to be a powerful platform globally that calls for action to achieve gender equality, whilst celebrating the social, cultural, economic and political achievements of women.

IWD calls for us to think globally and act locally. By bringing a globally recognised event to Banbury we aim to educate and inspire our local community to come together to end gender inequality.

Throughout March 2022 IWD Banbury will be hosting an empowering series of events, workshops and exhibitions, both online and in person, free of charge and ticketed.

Join us at The Mill on Tuesday 8th March for a day of inspirational talks and insightful discussions around being a woman today.
