Ben Van der Velde is a stand-up comedian, actor, improviser and presenter. Over the past few years, has spread joy and nonsense to all four corners of the British Isles, as well as Greece, Estonia, Latvia, Finland and Norway.
Outside the circuit, Ben has performed a voodoo re-marriage ceremony, founded the Church of the Holy Kazoo with comedy legend Mark Thomas, and walked the entire London Underground network to raise money for The Refugee Council.
‘Wonderfully improvised riffs showcasing his impressive spontaneity and sharp tongue.’
Edinburgh Festivals Magazine
‘Turns lazy stereotypes and political messes into biting, personal, satire.’
Ed Fringe Review
‘On flights of fancy, he pushes ideas to extremes and displays a crackling, spontaneous energy in which we’re swept up.’
Alasdair is a legendary comedian, in that there is little historical evidence that he exists. But he does exists. Leicester Mercury Comedian of the year 2017, Alasdair has featured on BBC radio and has performed all across the UK. He knows quite a lot about 19th century magicians. Tourists often ask to have their photo taken with him, presumably impressed by this.
The only black female comedian on the circuit in Canada, Dana’s comedic style is both refreshing and irreverent, drawing her material from her diverse lifestyle, her gay friends and her crazy Jamaican family. Adept, charming and astute, she is warmly funny with an impishly sarcastic sense of humour. This is a lady not to be missed.
‘Like a gift from the Comedy Gods’ (The Herald)
‘An ebullient and instantly likable presence on stage’ (Arts Desk)
‘… forthright and funny’ (Funhouse Comedy Club).
