Show Title: ADHD Unmasked
Venue: The Mill Arts Centre, Banbury
Date Attended: Friday 20th June 2025
I had a wonderful, dopamine-filled evening at Hester Granger’s show ADHD Unmasked at The Mill Arts Centre. It was hilarious, relatable, and full of genuinely practical advice that I can’t wait to try out in my own life. I left feeling uplifted, seen, and with that lovely warm glow you get from being in the right place at the right time.
From the very beginning, I found myself feeling unexpectedly emotional. There was something really powerful about being in a room full of people who get it – who understand what it means to unmask, and how exhausting and constant the pressure to “act neurotypical” can be. The show’s title couldn’t be more perfect. We need to talk more openly about what it costs to constantly alter our behaviour to fit in – and Hester gives us permission to say “enough.”
She blends humour and heart so effortlessly, sharing personal stories and reflections that had the audience both laughing out loud and nodding in recognition. The show doesn’t just entertain – it validates, it educates, and it empowers. Whether you’re ADHD yourself, love someone who is, or just want to better understand the condition, ADHD Unmasked offers something truly valuable.
It’s rare to find a space where being neurodivergent isn’t something to hide or explain – it’s just understood. That’s what Hester created on stage, and it’s what made this show so special.
