Saturday 1st June
10:30am until 4:00pm
With Rachel Cronin

Spend the day with artist Rachel Cronin exploring modern watercolour techniques.

You will be introduced to an intuitive approach to building up landscapes as you explore contemporary styles. Led by curiosity and experimentation rather than rules you will use modern granulating watercolour pigments, acrylic inks, and dry media in a loose and free way. Rather than learning how to paint in a particular style you will be encouraged to explore you own personal preferences for colour and paint application as well trying out approaches that move you away from your comfort zone!

During the first half of the day, you will be introduced to several exercises that encourage you to play with contrast and composition in landscape painting followed by an afternoon working on a longer painting under guidance from the tutor.

This course takes place in the Art Studio. Please note that regrettably this room is not accessible to wheelchair users due to necessary fire evacuation regulations.

Age recommendation for adult courses is 19+.
All adult courses are created in partnership with Abingdon and Witney College and co-funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency. As we are in receipt of government funding, students will be asked to complete an enrolment form and evaluation diary for monitoring purposes.
