Be inspired by the beautiful seascapes of the British Isles in this one-day workshop that explores modern watercolour techniques and mixed media.
Our aim will be to work expressively and quickly using a variety of watercolour mediums such as granulation fluid, rubbing alcohol and acrylic inks to create atmospheric paintings. During the morning session you will experiment with several techniques that allow you to explore different watercolour effects; we will use sea salt, coloured inks, and deliberate back runs to create the mood of the scene and the effects of sea spray.
During the afternoon you will work on a longer seascape study using your favourite approaches. There will be plenty of source material provided but please bring along any images from your travels that inspire you.
