This August summer school, led by botanical artist Victoria Bolduc, offers a gentle introduction to botanical art across four relaxed studio sessions. Designed as an introductory course, it’s ideal for anyone curious about botanical watercolour, accurate drawing, and learning how to observe nature — no prior experience needed.
Across the four 2.5-hour classes, Victoria will guide you step-by-step through observation, drawing, and painting techniques, building skills gradually and confidently. There will be plenty of time to practise, ask questions, and develop at your own pace.
All materials are provided, and the atmosphere is friendly, focused, and unpressured — a chance to slow down, connect with nature, and enjoy the mindful process of botanical painting.

This course takes place in the Art Studio. Please note that regrettably this room is not accessible to wheelchair users due to necessary fire evacuation regulations. The main entrance is level access. On your right, there is a button to open the automatic door to the Café Bar. Head forwards into the Gallery, turn right up the ramp and proceed through two sets of double doors (please note there is no automatic button to open these doors). Please be aware that there are low ceilings and low door frames in this area. Turn right and proceed up the stairs (six steps, a landing, and then seven steps). Proceed through the doors straight ahead, then another set of doors straight ahead, and turn right through another door into the Art Studio.
Age recommendation for adult courses is 19+.
